770/800: VOIP portable solution

For those who still do not know, Gizmo is a software that allows you to make calls through the Internet.

As with other similar software, Gizmo is also cross platform and is available for Windows, Linux and OSX.

has recently been ported to this application for Nokia devices Nokia 770 and 800, or the two models of Nokia's Internet Tablet. This program allows then to transform our handheld device into a true mobile VOIP, given the increasing spread of wireless networks and public access as it allows you to make calls, in addition to other Gizmo users, even to landlines and mobiles around the world.

call landlines and mobile phones of course has a cost, but if you call another Gizmo user, not exactly so. Calls to the landline number of another Gizmo user is free indeed. For example, if Mario is a user wants to call Luigi and Gizmo (Gizmo other user) is sufficient that they both have entered in your profile the number of home phone or office (who, wishing to be visible only to persons who are among our contacts and not at all).

A small note regarding the versions available for both devices. According to the website of Gizmo on the Nokia 770 the latest version is 1.1, while for the Nokia 800 the latest available is 2.0. Gizmo does not recommend installing the version for the N800 on the N770, but I can assure you that this no problem (having personally tested) and that everything runs smoothly.

The hope now is that other VOIP software are ported to this device, such as OpenWengo and Skype, so as to further increase the communication possibilities of this fabulous device.
